Supported files
The current release supports CBZ comic archives after subscription access is active. The included demo comic can be opened without subscribing. Other archive formats are not supported in this release.
Subscription access
BubbleSpeak Comics requires an auto-renewable subscription to import your own comics. The included Pepper & Carrot demo remains available without subscribing. The intended U.S. prices are $0.99 per month or $9.99 per year, with a 7-day free trial for eligible new subscribers. Purchases, renewals, cancellation, and refunds are handled by Apple.
Importing a comic
After subscribing, open BubbleSpeak, choose Import, and select a CBZ file from the iOS Files picker. The app reads pages in filename order, so page filenames should sort naturally.
Speech playback
If speech does not play, check the device volume, audio output route, and speech settings. Some pages may take time to process the first time they are opened.
Text recognition
OCR works best with clear page images and readable lettering. Stylized, very small, low-contrast, or distorted text may be missed or recognized imperfectly.
Privacy
Comic pages and recognized text are processed locally in the app. Read the privacy policy for details.
What to include when contacting support
- App version and build number.
- Device model and iOS or iPadOS version.
- A short description of what happened and what you expected.
- Whether the problem happens with one comic or every comic.
Please avoid sending copyrighted comic pages unless you own the rights or have permission to share them for troubleshooting.
Manage or cancel a subscription
Open Apple subscription settings to manage or cancel your subscription. You can also use Restore Purchases in the app if you subscribed on another device with the same Apple Account.
