BubbleSpeak opens CBZ, PDF, and EPUB files from Files. It extracts readable comic text on device, uses embedded EPUB text for novels and books, highlights the current text region or sentence, and uses iOS speech playback controls to read through pages and chapters. The included demo comic is free to open; importing your own files requires subscription access.

Reader first

Comic page navigation, EPUB chapter controls, typography settings, zooming, progress, and manual reading stay at the center of the experience.

Story order

Panel and bubble detection help organize recognized comic text, while EPUB chapters use embedded book text for smooth narration.

On-device processing

OCR, EPUB text handling, cache data, and speech preparation are designed to happen locally on your iPhone or iPad.

First release scope: CBZ/PDF/EPUB import, local comic text extraction, EPUB text reading, highlighting, and speech. CBR archives and language translation are outside this release.

Subscription Access

The included Pepper & Carrot demo can be opened without a subscription. New eligible subscribers can start with a 7-day free trial before importing their own CBZ, PDF, and EPUB files. After the trial, the subscription renews automatically unless canceled in App Store account settings.
